Haun Winery in Soledad, California makes a great Meritage. Meritage is a blend similar to a Bordeaux style wine in France. Haun's Mertiage is layered and full bodied blend of Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The 2010 Vintage evokes aromas of raspberry, blueberry, and vanilla. Rich and wonderfully focused, this classic Bordeaux-style blend is approachable yet complex. On the palate it serves up an array of flavors—currant, black cherry, and caramelized toasty oak.
